The thread on the forums was the story of my life. :P

Ah, that should work with Risen3D too... will be fun to try out either way.

Hehe, this conversation is going round in circles. :D Are there other features than the extra weapons not supported by other ports? Can the weapons be included in such a way, while building for ZDoom, that they won't be stored in the traditional way within the WAD?

5/18/13 abbuw responds:

I am not sure if the other source ports would support generalized linedef actions. I am planning on adding ambient noises too. I also have specific ZDoom lumps. I guess that after I am done with it I could attempt to port it into Risen3D.

I mean, why wouldn't the ^ WAD work with Risen3D?

5/16/13 (Updated 5/16/13) abbuw responds:

Ah, I guess it might work, but like I said before, you might not have any of the fancy ZDoom features.

I've played WADs with new weapons, sounds, etc too though. Is there a way to add weapons without them being supported by other ports?

5/16/13 abbuw responds:

Not that I am aware of. I'd have to replace weapons with other ones to do that.

Ah, that long. Looking forward to it though. As for Risen3D, I've played a few WADs made specifically for ZDoom on it earlier, as long as you run in basic mode for 'severely dehacked modifications' it hasn't been a problem yet. As far as I know they both have feature support.

5/16/13 abbuw responds:

Lol. The reason I am using ZDoom is because I can code new weapons in and stuff. You wouldn't be able to take advantage over enemies with a silenced machine gun in Risen3D.

I guess it'd be playable on Risen3D too if it's made for ZDoom? Looks good! I'll keep an eye peeled for future versions, but in case I blink, maybe you could send a PM when this thing is nearing competition? Keep it going!

5/16/13 abbuw responds:

It is probably not compatible with Risen3D. It'll also take a long time for me to finish it. I am aiming for a Christmas release.

you can add new weapons in doom mods now!? or did you just mean it has more guns than the first version (ie it now has the BFG and plasma gun, for example)

5/15/13 (Updated 5/15/13) abbuw responds:

You can add in new weapons to Doom mods, yes. Using ZDoom's decorate coding, I can code shitons of stuff.
